"From the Flame" is a captivating track by Leprous, a progressive metal band hailing from Notodden, Norway.

Formed in 2001, the band was initially the brainchild of singer and keyboardist Einar Solberg and guitarist Tor Oddmund Suhrke. Despite some early turbulence in band lineups, Leprous successfully released their first studio album, Tall Poppy Syndrome, in 2009. They then gained notoriety as the live backing band for Ihsahn (Solberg's brother-in-law), who has frequently guested on their records as a singer or producer.

Following the acclaim of their 2011 album Bilateral, Leprous began to evolve their sound. Their 2017 album Malina saw a shift toward a more rock-oriented, less metal approach, marked as their first record without harsh vocals. This evolution continued into their 2019 album Pitfalls, where the band mixed art rock, pop, and progressive influences into their well-established sound.

"From the Flame" hails from this period of creative experimentation, offering listeners a taste of Leprous' innovative blend of genres. As of 2021, they have released seven studio albums, the latest being Aphelion on 27 August 2021, all receiving mostly positive reviews.
