"Golden Prayers" by Leprous
"Golden Prayers" is a dynamic track from Leprous, a progressive metal band originating from Notodden, Norway. Founded by vocalist and keyboardist Einar Solberg and guitarist Tor Oddmund Suhrke in 2001, Leprous has made a significant impact in the progressive metal scene.
Beginning with their first studio album, Tall Poppy Syndrome, in 2009, the band's evolution has seen them supporting Ihsahn as a live backing band, creating a strong bond that has led to Ihsahn guesting on several of their records as a singer or producer.
With the acclaim following their 2011 album, Bilateral, the band underwent a musical transformation. Their sound evolved into a rock-oriented approach with their 2017 album, Malina, marking the first time their work featured no harsh vocals. This progression continued into their 2019 release, Pitfalls, where they explored an art rock, pop, and progressive fusion.
"Golden Prayers" embodies this period of creative exploration, displaying the band's distinct blend of genres. To date, they have released seven studio albums, with their most recent, Aphelion, released on 27 August 2021. The band's releases have been met with largely positive reviews, further establishing their place in the genre.
